Neighborhood Groups

What is a Neighborhood Group?

A neighborhood group is a part of the chaper of the American Sewing Guild. It is organized by members of a chapter to get together and discuss sewing topics that interest them. Groups may be formed for any commonality; location, interest in a particular area of sewing, or for special charity projects. Each group has a leader.

When Does a Group Meet?

Usually a neighborhood group meets monthly at a regular day and time. The group members will determine how often, where and for how long the meeting will be.

What Happens at a Neighborhood Group Meeting?

A neighborhood group meeting should be informal, fun, inclusive, and a learning experience for the participants. A meeting consists of a short group business meeting and "show and tell" where members are encouraged to show their sewing projects. Refreshments are optional, a choice of the group.

May Non-Guild Members Attend?

Non-Guild members are welcome at all meetings. However, after attending two group meetings, guests must join the American Sewing Guild to continue to participate in any group's activities.
